Wedding: Becca & Daniel

This last weekend I shot a wedding at Gardencourt in Louisville, KY for Becca, Daniel and their crazy crew of friends. =) We made a lot of fun pictures, some of which I have posted on Facebook in addition to what is here. It was a beautiful summer day, for a beautiful wedding. Excerpts below!

Wedding: Blair & Andrew

This past weekend I photographed Blair and Andrew's wedding at St. John United Church of Christ in Louisville, KY. Afterwards we headed over to the recently renovated Henry Clay for the reception. My favorite pic from the day is the one below with the flying rose petals--her face says it all! =)

Wedding: Liz & Chris

Liz and Chris were married last weekend at St. Marks United Church of Christ in New Albany, IN. Afterwards we headed to the Louisville Marriott Downtown for a beautiful reception produced by SUP. Fellow artist and videographer Tommy Nolan has a few of his own shots on his blog as well.

Wedding: Cindy & Brian

A little behind in posting this, but a week ago Cindy and Brian were married at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, KY. The museum is a great place for beautiful portraits--love the dramatic lighting throughout, as well. Early faves below!

Wedding: Alexis & Phil

I was back on the road this weekend and on Sunday I photographed Alexis and Phil's wedding in beautiful Asheville, NC. They were married at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Asheville and the reception (DJ'd by Audio To Go) was later held at On Broadway. Phil and I worked together briefly at ATA and it was a real honor to photograph the wedding for him and his beautiful bride.

These two were smiling all night long--see for yourself. =)

Wedding: Lynn &Jeff

Yesterday was another close call with the weather. That seems to be happening a lot lately. Luckily the rain stayed away until late in the reception for Lynn and Jeff's wedding at Waveland State Historic Site in Lexington, KY. Earlier in the day we devoted a good amount of time to portraits and I have to say I'm really happy with the results. Every wedding and couple is different, but when you have more time you usually end up with quite a few fun portraits. These guys were a great couple and I know they have a great future ahead of them. Congratulations, you two! =)

Wedding: Jennifer & Paul

I spent this last weekend in New York City shooting a very fun wedding on the upper east side in Manhattan. We started the day off with Jennifer, Paul, their family and the wedding party by shooting portraits in Central Park. That place is pretty much a photographer's dream. Afterwards we went to Central Presbyterian Church for the ceremony and then later had the reception at the Lotos Club. I had the pleasure of working with videographer Tommy Nolan, (view the highlight video) who recently relocated to NYC from Louisville. My early favorites are posted below!

Wedding: Rebekka & Derek

The forecast was for flash flooding and severe thunderstorms this last weekend in Pensacola Beach, FL. Things didn't look good at the start of the day, but amazingly the sun broke through and we had beautiful weather for Rebekka and Derek's wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn. It was a beautiful wedding and I don't think things could have turned out any better!

Wedding: Dessica & Jason

This last Saturday I got to shoot Dessica and Jason's wedding at Rough River State Park. It was a small, intimate affair with only family in attendance. Dessica was a former assistant of mine and so it was a pleasure to capture their wedding for them. Good luck you two! =)

Wedding: Shannon & Mike

I spent last weekend in Panama City Beach, FL photographing Shannon and Mike's wedding at the beautiful Marriott Bay Point resort. I was there about a year ago for another wedding and I really enjoyed my return visit. They have this really beautiful pier and we grabbed this gorgeous shot at twilight (last shot below).

Here are a few outtakes from Cassie's senior pictures from several days ago. We shot these out in Crestwood, KY. This is really such a great time of year to be shooting outside!

E-Session: Mindy & Darren

After a bit of a winter break, things are going to get really busy really fast. Just over the next few weeks I'll be traveling to New York and then Florida twice to shoot a few weddings--and I can't wait! Just this last weekend I was in St. Simons Island, GA to photograph an engagement session for Mindy and Darren, who are actually both from Southern California. They're a great, easy-going couple and I'm looking forward to seeing them again for their wedding in August!

For any of my couples who haven't scheduled an engagement session yet, the spring weather conditions/scenery don't get any better than right now. =)

Wedding: Piper & Philip

Things tend to slow down a little bit during the winter months, but I did get to photographer Piper and Philip's fun wedding this last weekend on Groundhog Day! The day started off with a ceremony at Duncan Memorial Chapel in Crestwood, KY. It was unusually sunny and somewhat warm for a Februrary day. Afterwards we headed over to the Glassworks for the reception, which was catered by the always fabulous Wiltshire Pantry. Instead of some of the more traditional reception events, the couple entertained their guests with a show featuring belly dancers and fire twirling, pictured below!

Wedding: Erica & Michael

My first wedding of the new year belonged to a very sweet couple, Erica and Michael, who were married at St. Agnes in Louisville, KY. This was my first visit to the church and it was absolutely beautiful. Later in the afternoon we headed over to the always-in-demand Olmstead for a gorgeously decorated reception. They guys were big fans of the movie Anchorman and wanted to capture a scene from the movie--it was definitely fun and I'm very glad we did it. Check it out below!

Wedding: Charly & Chad

For the first time in my wedding photography career I photographed a wedding on New Year's Eve. Charly and Chad were married earlier in the day at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany, IN. Later that day we headed over to Slugger Field in Louisville, KY for the reception. The hanging Christmas lights made for a really nice backdrop for all of the dancing pictures. What a great way to start the new year!

Wedding: Katie & Jeff

Last weekend was a busy one! On Saturday I photographed Katie and Jeff's wedding at Duncan Memorial Chapel in Crestwood, KY. The ceremony started well after sunset, but what some see as an obstacle can really be seen as an opportunity to be creative--in using the available lighting. I really like some of the stuff we did under the archways. Later in the evening we headed over to the Louisville Boat Club for the reception.

Wedding: Angela & John

I spent last weekend in New England shooting Angela and John's wedding at St. Anthony's Church in Prospect, CT. Angela wanted a winter wedding and that's what she got. The day before the ceremony it snowed several inches--just perfect. The reception was held at Mahan's Lakeview in Wolcott, CT. They had a pretty chapel in back and we used that for some cool shots. The day after the wedding it snowed again, making my trip home pretty interesting, to say the least. I just hope Angela and John didn't have as much trouble heading out for their honeymoon! Favorites below:

Wedding: Sarah & Kevin

I had an usual two weekend break, but I was back to shooting this last Saturday, photographing Sarah and Kevin's wedding at Caldwell Chapel in Louisville, KY. I used to work with both of them at Summit Energy and it's always nice to create pictures for people you know personally. Sarah looked absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress, and although she denies it, I think she had been practicing her wedding poses. =) The reception was held at Mellwood Arts Center.

Wedding: Mary Margaret & Jay

Last weekend I was in Santa Rosa, FL to photograph Mary Margaret and Jay's beach wedding. For a November day, it was pretty sunny and warm. Later that evening we went to Eden Gardens State Park for the reception. It was a little cooler at night, but it was nothing a little alcohol and a few outdoor heaters couldn't fix!

Wedding: Linda & Clay

This past Saturday, Linda and Clay's wedding ceremony was held at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Louisville, KY. Linda and Clay are good friends of Carla and Trevor, a couple whose wedding I also shot--only two weeks before. There were so many guests that attended both weddings--it was great to see so many familiar faces. They're all a great group of people and it was a real pleasure to photograph both weddings.

The reception was later held at the beautiful and historic Seelbach Hilton. Of course, we had to get the shot at the steps of the lobby staircase. It's a classic picture. =)
