Wedding: Myra & David

Wow, another Saturday forecasted for scattered thunderstorms and we get nothing but beautiful weather. If it weren't for the fun Thunder Over Louisville traffic, this day would have been prefect. =) Myra and David had an intimate wedding with their family and closest friends at Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany, IN. Even though this wasn't a "big" wedding, I can't remember the last time that I was so busy. I really believe the trip I made to Vegas for the wedding photography conventions has really inspired me. I see things now that I wouldn't have seen before...and I'm taking more creative risks!

After the brief ceremony, we headed over to Covered Bridge for the reception. The elegant, picturesque setting combined with the beautiful evening light made for a perfect combination.

Wedding: Lisa & Joe

Here we are, kicking off the heart of the 2006 wedding season for yours truly. I had a lot of fun photographing Lisa and Joe's wedding at 300 Spring in Jeffersonville, IN. The forecast was for rain, but we had nothing but sunshine--it was a beautiful, warm spring afternoon and things couldn't have been better. I always love photographing in this place because of the funky lighting they have for the dance floor. I managed to grab this dramatic first dance shot a few hours ago.

Viva Las Vegas!

I just got back in town early this AM from a trip to Las Vegas--a first for me. Unfortunately I didn't get to experience as much of the Vegas nightlife as I would have liked as my schedule was jam packed with seminars and events from the WPPI and DWF wedding photography conventions. But, the good news is that I'm overflowing with inspiration and new ideas for great wedding photography. Getting to meet other photographers from all around the world and talking shop was so energizing--I can't wait to photograph Joe and Lisa's wedding this weekend!

Wedding: Heather & Ian

Okay, this isn't exactly timely, but I only started my blog yesterday and I'd like to chronicle every wedding I photograph this year. This picture is from the first wedding I photographed in 2006--back in January. Heather and Ian had their wedding and reception at The Grand in New Albany, IN.

You couldn't tell from the picture, but Ian was sick as a dog the whole evening with some sort of stomach flu. Despite the circumstances, we made some great pictures. They make for a very beautiful/photogenic couple!

The blog is launched!

I've decided to get with the times and launch my very own blog! The road ahead in 2006 is going to be an eventful and exciting year and I'd like to use this forum as a way to keep everyone up to date on all of the cool stuff that's going on.
