E-Session: Bekah & Mike

I did an engagement session this past Sunday with Bekah and Mike at Waterfront Park in Louisville, KY. Our shoot was scheduled a wee bit before sunset and the lighting couldn't have been any better. I think it hit the 70s as well, so it was basically a perfect setting for picture making! These guys are a very photogenic (and friendly) couple and I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year!

Wedding: Erin & Drew

Erin and Drew were married Saturday afternoon at First Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville, IN. This was one of those unusual opportunities where I was able to photograph the bride and groom before the ceremony. We had a couple of hours to shoot everything and anything with everybody--and we did. I know there is a desire to stick with tradition, but having an opportunity to make pictures before the ceremony, when there is more time to be creative and less pressure to hurry to the reception, good things usually happen. But, I guess it's all a matter of personal choice!

The reception was held at Culbertson Mansion in New Albany, IN. I really loved the cake they had--wish I would have gotten the name of the baker!

Wedding: Kristi & Matt

This last Saturday, Kristi and Matt were married at St. John Catholic Church in Starlight, IN. I was at this same church earlier in the summer to photograph Terra and Travis' wedding. The reception was also at the picturesque Huber's Lakehouse, which is just down the street from the church. It was a beautiful day for a wedding, except it got a little chilly towards sunset and everyone was trying to find something to cover up. Oh, and this was definitely the biggest wedding party I have ever photographed--10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen!

Wedding: Jill & Tom

Jill and Tom were married yesterday afternoon at a private home in Louisville, KY. This was a Celtic wedding, complete with kilts, bagpipes and other traditions. It was a crisp 60 degrees or so, but Jill heated things up with a repertoire of her own sexy poses during the after-ceremony photo shoot!

Wedding: Kelly & Joel

I had the pleasure of photographing Kelly and Joel's wedding ceremony last Saturday at the First Unitarian Church in Louisville, KY. The church is right across the street from the main public library and I have driven/walked by it so many times and had never taken notice of it before. It's very pretty inside and they have a cool courtyard--amazing how little treasures can be right in front of you and you never notice. The reception was held at the Muhammad Ali Center. We got some cool pics out on the terrace right at sunset--it was a perfect backdrop, being right alongside the Ohio River.

Wedding: Andrea & Chris

This last Friday I was fortunate enough to travel to Grayton Beach, FL to photograph Andrea and Chris' wedding. The stretch of beaches along the Emerald Coast are just spectacular--white sand and warm bluegreen water everywhere. I just bought a house but I'm thinking I should have bought one in Florida instead!

Their ceremony was held at Grayton Beach State Park right before sunset. Cafe Tango, a quaint little restaurant in Santa Rosa Beach served as the site of the reception. The food was amazing and if you're ever in the area, book well in advance for a chance to dine here. The night was capped off with a surprise bonfire along the beach--pretty cool, I thought!

Wedding: Brittany & Miles

Wow, what a beautiful wedding Brittany and Miles had yesterday at Whitehall Mansion in Louisville, KY. This was my first time shooting a wedding there and I can't wait for another opportunity to return. These two guys make for a very attractive couple. Brittany was sporting a beautiful Marc Jacobs gown--she was absolutely stunning! Great venue, great couple...and great DJ! DJ Terry Diabolik was totally bringing the house down--everyone was covered in sweat by the end of the night because no one wanted to leave the dance floor. After getting a great photographer (like me! =)), a great DJ/band plays a big part in having a fun, memorable wedding.
